In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted
Mat 5: 10 - 12
'Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.'
John 15: 20
'Remember what I told you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.'
Phil 1: 29
For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Luke 21: 15
For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
Mat 10: 23
'When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.'
Mat 5: 44, 45
'But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.'

'They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.'
Acts 5: 38, 39
Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.
